Project Description

This beautiful, elegant building is situated on the grounds of the University College Dublin and remains one of our finest building projects. The design concept by Robin Lee Architecture perfectly complements the surrounding environment of the UCD, while projecting a uniquely stunning design that contains elements of Chinese architecture and culture. The building consists of the construction of a free-standing 3-storey building which includes teaching spaces, a library exhibition space, a restaurant facility and ancillary areas such as office space for full-time, part-time and visiting lecturers. The contract also included extensive siteworks within the site boundary. The exterior has an immediate aesthetic impact on the visitor. The interior is equally impressive with its unique design creating a sense of open space that also manages to feel intimate and does not alienate staff from one another. Confucius Institute for Ireland is an outstanding building and Glenman is very proud to have been a part of this project.
